Wolverhampton Wanderers are in pursuit for a goalscorer this summer, with Sporting CP forward Youssef Chermiti rising as a potential grab.

Julen Lopetegui must recruit a competent striker in the transfer window, to avoid a repeat of last season’s record of being the lowest-scorers in the Premier League.

As reported by Portuguese outlet Record, Wolves hold an interest in Chermiti, who graduated from the club’s academy last campaign.

The report claims that scouts were present in Sporting’s pre-season game against Genk, amid rumours of the Old Gold’s curiosities over the striker.

Despite having a contract running until 2027 with a release clause believed to be in the region of €80m (£69m), the teenager could leave for a figure of €20m (£17m) this summer according to the report.

While the teenager is still a name people are learning in Europe, one player in Wolverhampton is already familiar with his ability, with Matheus Nunes being his former teammate at Sporting.

Signed from Lisbon by Wolves last summer, the attacking midfielder is yet to show his full potential at Molineux, however has shown glimpses of just the threat he could be in the Premier League.

For Nunes, Chermiti could be the ideal player for him to unearth his creative ability in England, in a talent that could suit his approach to playmaking.

In Portugal, the 24-year-old averaged 4.37 final third passes compared to his 2.55 per 90 in the Premier League last season, via FBref, suggesting that there is much more of his game to unlock in the Midlands.

In having a prominent figure to target in the final third through Chermiti, the Portuguese gem could elevate his game in playing with a talent he is familiar with.

As per The Scouting App, the teenager is described as a ‘pure striker’, with strengths in his physicality and ‘explosiveness’, proposing that he could be an added streak of much-needed energy up-front for Wolves.

According to The Daily Mail, Aston Villa are 'exploring' a move for Wales international Johnson this summer and his current employers would be open to selling him in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Is Joao Palhinha leaving Fulham?

According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Reds are 'most keen' on the Portugal international as they seek fresh faces to reassemble their midfield.

Tavolieri claims that the Cottagers are seeking in excess of £52m for the ace, with certain sources claiming that a jaw-dropping £90m might even be the requirement to prise him away from Marco Silva's squad.

Reliable source ExWHUEmployee claims that the 28-year-old wants a move to the Hammers, though it's hard to imagine he would turn his head at a move to Anfield if Jurgen Klopp decides to advance negotiations.

Is Joao Palhinha a good player?

Having lost James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to contractual conclusions last month, Klopp might not have wanted to lose such a distinguished star as Fabinho despite the Brazilian's poor performances last season, especially when partnering with captain Jordan Henderson's forthcoming and highly-publicised move to Saudi side Al Ettifaq.

With the Portuguese star making the successful leap to a side capable of challenging for major honours with regularity, perhaps Palhinha can join his countryman and make a marked improvement on the Merseyside club's central midfield.

Liverpool must now act in order to get the Anfield masses cheering again, and with Palhinha's signing, the perfect foundation for Klopp's new-look midfield might just be installed.

It has recently been reported that Leeds manager Daniel Farke expects to sell Gnonto before the transfer window shuts, having already sanctioned his departure, with the Toffees in talks to snap him up.

Sean Dyche is said to be a big admirer of the winger's dynamism and versatility, having featured in several attacking roles for the Whites last season, but it has been very difficult to get a deal over the line up to this point.

That is according to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, which details that the Toffees have made a €20m (£17m) offer for the 19-year-old, just shy of the Whites' asking price of €22m (£19m).

The two clubs are still some way apart in their valuation of the Italian, but the gap is closing, and it now appears as though Leeds may finally be willing to soften their stance, having previously been extremely tough in their negotiations.

The starlet was praised by former manager Jesse Marsch for the impact he made at Elland Road last season, in what was a breakthrough year as he was lauded as "fantastic". However, he was unable to help Leeds retain their place in the Premier League.

In 24 top-flight appearances, the Italy international amassed two goals and four assists, which is not a bad return in a struggling side, but it casts doubt over whether he would be able to hit the ground running at Goodison Park.

Of course, the Toffees also struggled last season, avoiding relegation by the skin of their teeth on the final day of the season, and it is unclear whether the Verbania-born ace would be able to make an immediate impact to help them compete higher up the table in the upcoming campaign.

The Leeds winger is still very young, with plenty of time on his side to develop further, but he ranks in just the 24th percentile for non-penalty goals per 90 over the past year, when compared to his positional peers, and the 37th percentile for shot-creating actions.

There are indications that Sulemana could be a better addition to Dyche's squad, with the Southampton ace averaging more successful take-one and non-penalty goals per 90 in the past year.

Signing Gnonto for £19m is a real risk for Everton, given that he is inexperienced, and while Sulemana may be available on loan, the Italian did show some promising signs for Leeds last season, so could end up being an astute signing.

Tottenham Hotspur have held talks to sign Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher with his club open to selling him this summer, according to reports.

Who will Spurs sign this summer?

New manager Ange Postecoglou is in the middle of a crucial, crucial period of his Spurs reign as he attempts to strengthen for his full debut campaign.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, playmaker James Maddison and winger Manor Solomon arrive as confirmed signings with Pedro Porro and Dejan Kulusevski making their north London stays permanent as well.

Despite their current outlay totalling £117 million, the north Londoners won't be finished there.

It is reliably believed that Spurs want to add two senior centre-back signings to their roster, with Postecoglou admitting that new defensive additions are being worked on behind-the-scenes.

"That's definitely our intention, absolutely," said the head coach recently.

"We've been working on it for a while and we'll definitely try to get it done as quickly as possible.

"I don't think it's any secret about some of the areas we needed to strengthen. Some of it I identified early on. The goalkeeper was one and central defence is another.

Meanwhile, Postecoglou's side are also hunting for potential midfield additions, especially since Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is reportedly nearing a move to Atletico Madrid.

Gallagher, who is ready to leave Chelsea in search of a new opportunity, has been linked with a move to Tottenham alongside the likes of Aston Villa's Douglas Luiz.

As per journalist Graeme Bailey and 90min, Tottenham have "had talks" to sign the 23-year-old alongside both West Ham and Brighton.

It's added that Chelsea are open to selling him this summer, but there is a problem in the form of his valuation, as Mauricio Pochettino's side value the player at £50 million.

None of the aforementioned trio are willing to pay that amount for Gallagher, leading to a stalemate of sorts.

"Chelsea open to Conor Gallagher sale but they stand firm on valuation," wrote Bailey on Twitter.

"West Ham, Tottenham and Brighton have all had talks – but none would be willing to pay £50m for him."

David Moyes and technical director Tim Steidten have been at the centre of reports claiming there is a current rift behind the scenes at West Ham, coming as they remain the only club not to make a single summer signing.

We are into the final month of this transfer window, giving West Ham precious little time to strengthen in key areas all over the pitch, but the Hammers head coach has previously expressed optimism.

Speaking at the end of last month, Moyes revealed that "several offers" have been made by the club in their attempts to strengthen after the £105 million sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal.

“Because of the shortness of the summer and being in Australia. it’s meant the time has been limited, but I’m sure we’ll get down to work and do what we have to do,” Moyes told Sky Sports.

Ward-Prowse, who was subject to rejected bids from West Ham as they haggled over price with Southampton, is reportedly pretty keen to make the move.

A deal for the Englishman, according to journalist Dean Jones, could still be alive.

"The James Ward-Prowse situation is still alive," said Jones to GiveMeSport.

"I know that goes against the current wave of information, but the fact they have made offers shows their intent and while Saints might keep knocking them back at the minute, the update I have just had suggests this is a deal that will eventually get done if they persist as the player is pretty keen on that being the case.

"I don’t know how quickly it’ll happen because of the approach West Ham have taken on this and, of course, they are very wary about the price point here and not overpaying.

"At the moment, they are about £10million away from valuation. To be honest, maybe he even starts the season at Saints. But he won’t be there much longer and, at the moment, he’s the Moyes target that looks likely, even if Steidten has been trying to calm the excitement around that opportunity."
