O clássico entre Botafogo e Flamengo no Nilton Santos, na próxima quarta-feira, jogo de ida da semifinal da Copa do Brasil, terá segurança reforçada. Será o primeiro jogo no estádio após a lamentável confusão que terminou com um torcedor alvinegro morto nos arredores do local com um espeto de churrasco antes da partida entre os dois clubes, pelo Campeonato Carioca. Jogo que também ficou marcado pela falta de segurança, por isso a atenção especial.

De acordo com informações do site ‘Globoesporte.com’, o Botafogo contratou 600 agentes de segurança para a partida. Com isso, 400 vão ficar dentro do estádio e 200 fazendo a segurança fora. Para se ter ideia, são 250 a mais do que para o jogo contra o Nacional, na última quarta-feira, pela Libertadores.

A falta de segurança no clássico de seis meses atrás se deu por conta da greve em alguns batalhões da Polícia Militar. Desta vez, o Grupamento Especial de Policiamento em Estádios (Gepe) da PM terá um efetivo de 190 polícias dentro do estádio. Além disso, até 180 homens vão estar fazendo a segurança no entorno do Nilton Santos.

Como não haverá venda de ingressos na bilheteria no dia do jogo, apenas torcedores do Flamengo com ingresso vão poder chegar aos arredores do Nilton Santos. Isso é uma medida para evitar confusões no entorno do estádio.

Leeds United could sign an exciting upgrade on Patrick Bamford in Espanyol marksman Raul de Tomas.

What’s the story?

Reports in recent days have suggested that Marcelo Bielsa’s side, along with fellow Premier League outfit West Ham, are continuing to follow the Spanish striker ahead of a potential move.

The report adds that Espanyol would demand a fee in the region of £38m to part ways with their talismanic striker, and that with his contract only expiring in the summer of 2026, they are under no pressure to let him go just yet.

Better than Bamford

While Bamford enjoyed a fine full season in the Premier League last term – he netted 17 goals in the competition – his injury-riddled campaign this year saw him well below his best.

In the five matches that he played, the England international bagged just once, while less than a third of shots per game actually found the target – an indication of his wayward finishing at times.

In contrast, De Tomas has started the new campaign on fire, netting six in 11, and being far more accurate with his attempts on goal – 1.7 of the 3.5 shots on average he takes actually finds the target.

And it’s not just in his finishing that the Espanyol man far outshines Bamford, also averaging more successful dribbles per game, and winning more duels per match too – the kind of all-round impact that Bielsa will surely love.

As per OptaJose, the Spaniard actually achieved a bit of history this season in La Liga with a very impressive feat that has been unmatched this century for his club side.

They revealed: “Raúl de Tomás has become the first Espanyol’s player in 21st Century to have recorded two different streaks scoring +4 #LaLiga games in a row in each one of them: the first one between January-February 2020 & the last one this October.”

De Tomas himself has revealed the kind of striker that he is, saying: “I am a pacey, competitive and technically gifted goal-scorer.”

The man with 96 senior goals to his name appears to be an upgrade on Bamford, and someone who could give Bielsa an added clinical touch up front.

Lucas Pratto já está em casa. Cerca de 24 horas depois da pancada na cabeça recebida durante o clássico contra o Palmeiras, nesse domingo, o atacante argentino do São Paulo recebeu alta do HCor (Hospital do Coração), no centro da capital paulista. Deve voltar a treinar, com restrições, na quarta-feira.

Pratto já tinha deixado a UTI e passado por uma bateria de exames nesta segunda-feira, com bons resultados. Permaneceu no hospital para seguir o protocolo de 24 horas em observação, recomendado em casos detrauma crânio-encefálico como o dele, e foi liberado após realizar testes com a neurologista Rosemary Moreno.

Antes de sair, Pratto ainda recebeu a visita de Hernanes, meia que é capitão do time e que acabou participando acidentalmente da jogada que causou o trauma no argentino – a cabeça do atacante atingiu o joelho do camisa 15 em lance na área de Sidão, aos 22 minutos do primeiro tempo, quando o Tricolor vencia por 1 a 0.

O camisa 9 saiu de ambulância de dentro do gramado, mas estava consciente e conversando já a caminho do hospital. Realizou exames de imagens e avaliações neurológicas e teve bons resultados. O mesmo ocorreu na ressonância magnética nesta manhã. Nenhuma alteração foi detectada.

Pela programação divulgada pelo São Paulo,Pratto ficará em repouso domiciliar e, na manhã de quarta-feira, deve se reapresentar com o resto do elenco no CT da Barra Funda – todos ganharam dois dias de folga após o Choque-Rei desse domingo. Inicialmente, o atacante fará treinos específicos, evitando traumas e contato mais intenso. Até o final de semana, deve ser liberado para trabalhar normalmente com o resto do grupo.

Pela manhã, o São Paulo divulgou em seu Instagram um vídeo em que Pratto tranquiliza os torcedores e se coloca pronto para trabalhar – a expectativa é de que atue normalmente na próxima partida do time, contra a Ponte Preta, no dia 9, no Morumbi. Após perder por 4 a 2 para o Palmeiras, nesse domingo, no Allianz Parque, a equipe segue na zona de rebaixamento do Brasileiro.

However, the players will have to see through a cooling-off period, which ends on December 31, before they can be eligible for national selection.The move follows the granting of amnesty to 14 ‘rebel’ cricketers on May 9 this year on condition they ended their contracts with the unauthorised league. Subsequently, the cricketers severed their ties with the ICL.The development took place in the immediate aftermath of the BCCI granting amnesty to 79 Indian players who had ended their association with the league.”The 14 cricketers who were under contract with the ICL formally applied to the BCB within the deadline seeking permission to return to domestic cricket,” a board statement said. “They also submitted the necessary documents to confirm that they have terminated their contract with the ICL.”As they have fulfilled the requirements to avail the amnesty the BCB therefore recognises that these players are eligible to participate in all forms of domestic cricket with effect from 16 June 2009.”The Bangladesh players who have returned to the official fold are: Aftab Ahmed, Alok Kapali, Dhiman Ghosh, Farhad Reza, Golam Mabud, Mahbubul Karim, Manjural Islam, Mohammad Rafique, Mohammad Sharif, Mosharraf Hossain, Nazimuddin, Shahriar Nafees and Tapash Baisya.

A reintegração de Felipe Melo, acima de tudo, encerra um possível problema jurídico entre Palmeiras e o jogador, que notificou o clube extrajudicialmente durante o período afastado. Resolvido o principal ponto do caso, o próximo passo é lidar com o retorno da convivência entre ele e Cuca.

Havia o temor de que, caso seguisse trabalhando em horários alternativos, Felipe abrisse um processo, conseguisse a rescisão na Justiça e uma indenização alta – só de luvas, o jogador tem quase R$ 7 milhões a receber até o fim do contrato, em dezembro de 2019. No Verdão a ideia é de que agora o caso está resolvido.

Felipe treinará com o grupo e dependerá apenas de Cuca o próximo passo – escalá-lo ou não. Na segunda, ele ainda fez atividades físicas na parte interna da Academia de Futebol, mas em mais alguns dias deve ter condições de trabalhar no campo. A menos que convença o treinador de que pode mudar seu estilo de jogo, com marcação mais próxima, em vez do estilo por zona, e principalmente mude o comportamento, o camisa 30 não deve jogar. A diretoria não irá interferir nesta escolha, ao mesmo tempo em que o volante tem dúvidas se precisa fazer algo diferente.

– Tenho 34 anos, como vou mudar meu jeito? De repente (jeito) de jogar pode ser, para tentar algo importante. Mas mudar o jeito é quando a coisa está dando errado. E não tenho problema com ninguém aqui. Desde o presidente até o funcionário que cuida da grama, trato bem, com humildade. Por isso sou querido aqui dentro – explicou.

Durante sua entrevista, o meio-campista disse que colocou os “pingos nos is” com o treinador, com quem teve problemas especialmente depois da eliminação na Copa do Brasil. Chamado de mau caráter, mentiroso e covarde pelo atleta em um áudio vazado, Cuca queria sua saída, mas sem proposta e com a ameaça de um processo, acabou aceitando sua volta ao grupo. Felipe retirou as ofensas, que não “foram de coração”, segundo ele.

Entre os jogadores, o senso comum é de que a decisão da reintegração não trará problemas ao vestiário, reação pacífica que seria a mesma caso ele o volante fosse desligado de vez, avaliam. Felipe não é tratado como “laranja podre”, crítica a qual o próprio meio-campista rebateu durante a entrevista.

Embora seu contrato vença só no fim de 2018, Cuca ainda não tem permanência garantida para a temporada que vem. According to a report by TUTTOmercatoWEB, there has been a crucial update on the future of Marcelo Brozovic at Inter Milan – and it involves Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte.

According to a variety of reports over this last week, the Croatian is one of many big Serie A names linked with a move to Spurs since Conte’s arrival in north London.

Calciomercato explained that he is one of a flurry of Italian top-flight stars attracting the 52-year-old’s interest as the Spurs boss demands a €280m (£239m) transfer war chest to overhaul the squad.

Meanwhile, TUTTOmercatoWEB also claimed last week that Conte is personally eyeing a move for him after remoulding Brozovic into a playmaker during his time at Inter.

That same outlet has now brought more news on the Croatia international’s future and his contractual uncertainty, namedropping Tottenham again.

The Latest: Conte ready to welcome Brozovic…

According to their sources, Brozovic’s future at the San Siro is set to be decided over crunch talks as both the player’s entourage and Inter arrange to meet at a ‘decisive summit’.

His current deal expires in 2022, which means that he could leave as a free agent at the end of this season, and his renewal is now ‘concretely in the balance’.

While Brozovic’s priority is to renew, despite the disagreements over salary at things stand, TMW also explained that there is ‘no shortage’ of suitors for the 28-year-old, and Conte is ready to ‘welcome him with open arms’.

The Verdict: Get it done?

If Conte can finally strike a long-awaited replacement for Christian Eriksen in Brozovic, especially considering how he was ‘reborn’ as a playmaker at Inter last year, we believe this could be an astute purchase for Tottenham on a free transfer.

Highlighting his creativity at some points, he averaged the same amount of key passes per 90 as Spurs superstar Harry Kane last season (1.4) – more than any Lilywhites player bar the Englishman and Son Heung-min (WhoScored).

The 68-cap ace also managed more league assists over that period (six) than any Tottenham squad member apart from Son and Kane, who both made the PFA Team of the Year.

Brozovic’s 89.6% pass accuracy in midfield over that time also eclipses that of every Spurs player (WhoScored), perhaps indicating that he would instil some class and composure in a more advanced role under Conte.

Lauded as a ‘very precious’ player by former Inter Milan and Udinese boss Andrea Stramaccioni, the Croatian could come as the Eriksen heir nobody predicted.

The visitors batted themselves into a strong position on the third day at the SSC, with their lead swelling to 366 and Sri Lanka facing an uphill battle.”We felt the absence of a second spinner and regret not having played one,” said Bayliss. “If we had played two spinners it doesn’t guarantee you anything, but it would have given us more options. Our attack in this game has lacked a little bit in variety.”Sri Lanka left out spinner Ajantha Mendis and opted for four seamers, giving veteran fast bowler Chaminda Vaas an opportunity to make his farewell appearance in Tests.”Pakistan have played well in this match and batted quite well,” Bayliss said. “Misbah [ul-Haq] and [Shoaib] Malik put their heads down today and looked like they really meant business. They grafted out for two hours and once they got in they started to blossom. I thought they batted really well.”Pakistan put a partnership together and batted well and on the flattest wicket we’ve played on in the series. A few balls out there turned today and that will happen over the next two days. It’s probably been the best conditions to bat. The best time to bat on this wicket was between lunch and tea. We have performed well while batting in this Test. We are hoping the bowlers will produce something for us.”We’ve worked hard and learnt from our mistakes. The way the team is playing at the moment we have covered a lot of ground. The batting didn’t perform well in the first two Tests we got the opportunities but couldn’t win from there. This is a good batting wicket, turning a bit but not supporting the fast bowlers anymore.
