It would be a big surprise if Gini Wijnaldum remains a Liverpool player beyond this season, according to journalist James Pearce.

The Lowdown: Final season at Liverpool?

The Dutchman has been a fantastic servant for the Reds since arriving in 2016, proving to be a key figure in the middle of the park and being hailed as ‘incredible’ by compatriot and former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel.

With Wijnaldum’s contract expiring at the end of the season, constant speculation has linked him with a move away from Liverpool. The fact that the 30-year-old hasn’t yet signed a new deal at Anfield seems to speak volumes about where he sees his future, with Barcelona the front-runners for his signature amid a potential reunion with former national team coach Ronald Koeman.

Speaking in a Q&A for The Athletic on Sunday, Pearce admitted that he fully expects Wijnaldum to be elsewhere come the start of next season, saying:

“Last I heard he was still weighing up various options, but I’d be amazed if he ended up staying out. He would bank a massive signing on fee as a free agent.”

The Verdict: A wonderful servant

Wijnaldum looks nailed-on to leave Liverpool, but he should always be remembered as a legendary modern-day figure at Anfield, winning both the Premier League and Champions League.

He might not have made as many headlines as the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, to name just a few, but he has been vital to Liverpool’s success. His goal on a tense final day afternoon against Middlesbrough four years ago proved the catalyst for Champions League qualification, and who can forget his double against Barcelona on that night at Anfield in 2019.

Wijnaldum has made 235 appearances in just five seasons, speaking volumes about his consistency and fitness levels, and he will be a big miss should he move on, knitting things together in midfield in an understated manner.

وأكمل: “رئيس نادي المريخ ملتزم بكلمته واتفاقه بإقامة مباراتي المريخ مع الأهلي في مصر، ولكن هناك أصوات داخل مجلس إدارة المريخ ترفض الأمر، وتتمسك بنقل المباراة بعد الهزيمة أمس”.

A reunião do Conselho Deliberativo da última terça-feira em que os conselheiros reprovaram o contrato com a Globo também serviu para o São Paulo atualizar a situação financeira. Um dos pontos apresentados foi o débito com o diretor de marketing Vinicius Pinotti, que aumentou este ano em R$ 8 milhões. Responsável pelo empréstimo para a contratação do meia-atacante Ricardo Centurión, em janeiro do ano passado, Pinotti tem crédito de R$ 21 milhões com o Tricolor.

O valor é superior ao que foi desembolsado por Centurión. Na época, foram gastos 4 milhões de dólares (cerca de R$ 13 milhões) com o jogador destaque do Racing (ARG). Explica-se: o diretor de marketing fez mais aportes este ano.

Em situação financeira delicada há tempos, o São Paulo precisou da ajuda de seu diretor para quitar salários atrasados de jogadores, como de Alexandre Pato no ano passado, e do elenco deste ano. O clube chegou a dever três meses de direitos de imagens ao grupo no início de 2016, o que gerou uma greve de silêncio por parte de alguns jogadores e um racha consequente no elenco.

Os aportes de Pinotti são favoráveis ao São Paulo porque os juros são menores do que o clube conseguiria indo a bancos, e os prazos, maiores. No entanto, fazem parte da dívida total do clube da mesma forma.

O diretor de marketing, além da ajuda direta, tem sido o responsável por uma das principais fontes de receitas do clube. De outubro do ano passado, quando começou a gestão de Carlos Augusto de Barros e Silva até agora, Pinotti saiu de zero para cerca de R$ 35 milhões em patrocínios de camisa. O último parceiro fechado para 2017 foi a Urbano, empresa do ramo alimentício. O diretor também é um dos maiores defensores no clube de uma política de ingressos com preços mais baixos.

كشفت تقارير صحفية إنجليزية أن نادي ليفربول لا ينوي كسر هيكل الرواتب المُتبع في الأنفيلد، من أجل إرضاء محمد صلاح والاحتفاظ بخدماته لما بعد عقده الحالي.

وسينتهي العقد الحالي للنجم المصري مع ليفربول في صيف 2023، دون وجود لأي اتفاق حتى الآن بشأن التجديد.

واستمرت مفاوضات مسؤولي ليفربول مع محمد صلاح بشأن عقده الجديد، على مدار الأشهر الماضية، ولكن فشل الطرفان في التوصل إلى اتفاق بسبب الاختلاف حول الراتب.

وأكد يورجن كلوب في تصريحاته يوم الجمعة الماضي أن ليفربول بذل كل ما في وسعه من أجل تجديد عقد محمد صلاح، ولكن الكرة الآن في ملعب اللاعب نفسه.

وذكرت شبكة “آنفيلد ووتش”، نقلًا عن “ذا أثلتيك” الإنجليزية، أن إدارة ليفربول ما زالت مصممة على الاحتفاظ بخدمات محمد صلاح ولكن ليس بأي ثمن.

وأوضحت أن ليفربول مستعد لجعل محمد صلاح اللاعب الأعلى أجرًا في تاريخ النادي، ولكن دون اللجوء إلى كسر هيكل الأجور المعمول به.

وأشارت إلى أن ملحمة تجديد العقد استمرت طوال هذا الموسم، لأن هناك فرقًا كبيرًا بين ما يرغب ليفربول في دفعه لـ محمد صلاح، وما يعتقد هو نفسه أنه يستحقه.

والتزمت جميع الأطراف حتى الآن صمتًا شاملًا بشان الأرقام المعنية، رغم انتشار تكهنات حول رغبة محمد صلاح في راتب أسبوعي يتراوح بين 450-500 ألف جنيه إسترليني.

وأكدت أن مُلاك ليفربول لن يقوموا بهدم هيكل الأجور الذي خدم النادي بشكل جيد للغاية.

وأشارت إلى أن الساعة تدق وإذا استمر المأزق إلى ما بعد مايو، فستبدأ أجراس الإنذار في الرنين، وسيكون على ليفربول اتخاذ قرار كبير بشأن محمد صلاح، التي تصل قيمته المالية إلى 100 مليون جنيه إسترليني.

وأفادت أنه في حال عدم التمكن من التوصل إلى حل، فسيتعين على ليفربول إما التفكير في عروض بيع محمد صلاح في صيف 2022، أو قبول الواقع المتزايد المتمثل في خسارته مقابل لا شيء عند انتهاء عقده العام القادم.

The veteran midfielder would also complete four key passes during the game, which is far more than the 0.7 he has averaged per game in the top-flight this campaign, which helped him to pick up two assists for Aguero’s goals, as he robbed Tom Davies for the first, before putting in a superb cross for him to head home a second.

He was also solid from a defensive perspective, managing three interceptions and two tackles, which again is more than the 1.1 interceptions and 1.5 tackles he has averaged this season.

Therefore, the “magnificent” midfielder has emphasised just how much quality he still has, and should have nailed down a starting spot for the Champions League final against Chelsea later this month.

Falta pouco para a permanência de Douglas ser oficializada. A direção do Grêmio pretende ter o jogador no elenco até o final da próxima temporada com valorização salarial e cláusula para renovação automática.

O empresário Bruno Paiva, está sendo esperado pela direção do clube gaúcho até o dia 2 de janeiro para assinar os documentos referentes à renovação. Os direitos econômicos de Douglas estão ligados ao Monte Azul e o vínculo atual do jogador com o Grêmio terminaria este ano com a possibilidade de renovação automática por seis meses, se as três partes concordarem.

Douglas encerrou a temporada como um dos principais jogadores do elenco e na conquista da Copa do Brasil. Aos 34 anos, o jogador conquistou a torcida e o técnico Renato Portaluppi com suas características marcantes na armação de jogadas, finalização e espírito de liderança.

Em 2016, Douglas atuou em mais de 60% das partidas disputadas pelo Grêmio. Em número de jogos, ele estava em 57, deixando sua marca na rede oito vezes durante o Gauchão, Primeira Liga, Libertadores, Campeonato Brasileiro e Copa do Brasil).

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa could solve a major problem at the club by signing Ryan Bertrand this summer.

What’s the story?

The 5 foot 10 ace recently left Southampton after the end of the Premier League season, and reports in recent days have suggested that the likes of Leicester and Arsenal are interested in signing him on a free transfer.

However, Paddy Kenny has now thrown Leeds’ name into the hat, and suggested that he could nail down a first-team spot at Elland Road were he to join Bielsa’s side in the summer.

He told Football Insider: “I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for him at Leeds. He’s an experienced Premier League player and has played a lot of games at the top level. He’s got a fair few years in him yet. I think they should look at this one, definitely.

“Does he want to keep playing week in, week out? Would you want to go to an Arsenal, Leicester or AC Milan and be further down the pecking order? Or would you want to go to Leeds, who have been unbelievable this season, and have the chance to play week in, week out? For me personally, I’d go to Leeds.”

Replacing Gjanni Alioski

Bertrand’s arrival at Elland Road would allow Bielsa to replace Gjanni Alioski, who has been linked with a move away from the club this summer and was largely disappointing over the course of the previous season, coming in for some big criticism from Noel Whelan.

He told Football Insider: “Alioski was diabolical to be quite honest with you. The free-kick, where he is trying to get a megs in the wrong area, that was his first mistake. The second mistake was back to the Alioski of old.

“We saw that weakness on the left-hand side again. The right thing was to take him off, 100 per cent. He was a liability. Another game which highlighted our need to go into the market for a left-back.”

He added: “Leeds need a natural full-back there that you know can cover most bases, definitely defensively because as much as he gives everything, he is a liability. He’s not the best of defenders.
