Jose Mourinho will want to see a reaction from his Tottenham Hotspur side this evening after they were demolished by recently goal-shy Liverpool in midweek, though his team selection will be rather interesting.

He is going to have to make changes with leading talisman Harry Kane absent through injury, and if his half-time defensive inquest is to be believed, it would be a surprise to not see alterations to the XI after they leaked three goals to the defending champions, who had been on a run of four straight games without scoring.

But who will feature against relegation candidates Brighton and Hove Albion at The Amex this evening?

Here’s the lineup we’re predicting for this Premier League encounter…

There could be as many as four changes with Mourinho reverting to a back four, in which there are two players axed as a result of Thursday night’s embarrassment.

Eric Dier and Matt Doherty are surely in the firing line after a catalogue of errors against the Reds, so we could see a long-awaited return for Toby Alderweireld, who has been snubbed in four of their last five league outings, to partner Joe Rodon.

Whilst Ben Davies moves back to the left flank with Serge Aurier getting a chance at redemption having been hauled off at half-time.

In midfield, we’re likely to see Moussa Sissoko return to the fray. He has started 12 of their 18 league games, and with the change to a back-four, there’s a place for him alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg with Tanguy Ndombele being pushed further forward.

With no Kane, it gives Mourinho a major dilemma. It’s rather damning that he didn’t turn to Carlos Vinicius when the England colossus came off injured, so he may not be given an opportunity here either.

Heung-min Son is best suited to a left-wing role, so we may see Gareth Bale gifted a rare chance to lead the line. He came on to score the winner in this exact fixture back in November and played his first full 90 minutes six days ago. He should be raring to go.

Another player facing Mourinho’s wrath is Steven Bergwijn, so Lucas Moura, who has been dubbed a “nightmare” to train against by Dier, is in line to start on the right.

The £25m arrival from PSG in 2018 hasn’t started much this term (four league games), but his energy will be needed in the attack without Kane after Bergwijn played 81 minutes only three nights ago.

After signing him on loan until the end of the season back in January 2020, Leeds United would no doubt have been expecting big things from Jean-Kevin Augustin.

The former PSG starlet had been brought in as competition for Patrick Bamford as the Whites looked to clinch promotion back to the Premier League, and had already played in the Champions League and Europa League with RB Leipzig.

Ex-Leeds man Sol Bamba talked up Augustin’s ability following his move to Elland Road, saying: “Everyone knows he can finish. You’ve seen the videos of his goals but he’s creative as well and very skilful on the ball. He likes to get involved in the build-up.”

Sadly for both Augustin and Leeds, the Whites never really saw what the Frenchman could actually produce at the club.

He ended up playing just three times in the Championship, totaling a measly 48 minutes of football, scoring no goals and providing no assists – his only outings for the club all came in the month of February, when he featured against Nottingham Forest, Brentford and Bristol City.

So when things started heating up about Leeds having to pay around £18m to sign him permanently that summer on the understanding that they had an obligation to buy, it seemed like the Yorkshire club were heading for disaster.

In the end, the Whites were able to wave goodbye to Augustin without having to cough up that £18m, and judging by his awful campaign this year, they’ve well and truly dodged a bullet.

The 23-year-old has played even less minutes for new side Nantes than he did for Leeds, making just three appearances but this time only amounting to 33 minutes of football.

Reports back in December suggested that the French team had left Augustin out of their squad citing a lack of fitness, while just last month, Nantes manager Raymond Domenech made the startling admission that his striker is only operating at around 30 to 40 per cent.

Given how things have panned out for Augustin back in Ligue 1, Andrea Radrizzani will no doubt be relieved that he didn’t have to shell out big-money to sign the Frenchman on a permanent basis back in the summer.

وأردف: “الله منحني نعمة كبيرة بالتواجد في الأهلي وحب الجمهور لي واللاعبين والإدارة، ولو كنت في مكان آخر لعانيت”.

وواصل: “عائد من الإصابة ولدي ثقة وإصرار غير طبيعي، وأريد أن أعطي الأهلي جزءً بسيطًا مما فعله معي، وأكتب ولو جزء بسيط من تاريخ النادي الكبير، وأكون عند حسن ظن الناس دائمًا”.

واستكمل: “يحدث معي في الشارع مواقف غير طبيعية من قِبل جماهير الأهلي، ومحمود الخطيب دائمًا خلف الفريق وأول من يتواجد لحل أزمة أي لاعب، وعندما أتعرض لأي إصابة أول من أتلقى منه رسالة هو الخطيب، ورسائله تكون مؤثرة جدًا وتعطيني دفعة معنوية كبيرة”.

وأتم: “عندما يتواجد الخطيب مع الفريق يصنع الفارق نفسيًا ويزيد الإصرار في نفوس اللاعبين بشكل غير عادي لكي نحقق أي انتصار”.

É de se pesar o pouco tempo de trabalho do argentino Bauza à frente do clube, mas os resultados estão bem abaixo do esperado, fruto de vexames em casa, como nas derrotas para o The Strongest (BOL) e São Bernardo. مانشستر يونايتد، كان أعلن يوم الإثنين قبل الماضي، إغلاق ملعبه التدريبي من أجل مكافحة الفيروس وتقليل انتشاره، وعاد اللاعبين، الأربعاء  الماضي، للخضوع لمزيد من الفحوصات الطبية.

وتسبب قرار الإغلاق في تأجيل مباراة الفريق أمام برينفتورد بالجولة السابعة عشر من الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، وكذلك مباراة برايتون في الجولة الـ18.

وكانت أثيرت شكوك حول إصابة رونالدو بـ كورونا، وخاصًة وأن النجم البرتغالي لم يظهر الخميس الماضي في مقر النادي.

ولكن رونالدو رد على الشائعات ونشر اليوم الأربعاء صورة من خلال حسابه الرسمي بموقع التواصل الاجتماعي “إنستجرام”، وهو مع زملاءه في التدريبات وكتب: “الفريق الفائز”.

تحدث جواو موتا المدير الفني لفريق الهلال السوداني، عن مواجهة الأهلي في دوري أبطال أفريقيا، مشيرًا أن اللقاء سيكون صعب.

وقال جواو في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر فضائية “أي تي سي”: “سعيد أنني سأواجه الأهلي وصن داونز فهم من الفرق القوية، وايضًا المريخ الجميع يعلم مدى صعوبة مواجهة الأهلي وقوته”.

وتابع: “مواجهة الأهلي الآن أو بعد ذلك فالأمر واحد بالنسبة لنا، وأريد أن أواجه الفريق الكبيرة، ومباراة الأهلي ستكون قوية”.

وأكمل: “نعلم أن الأهلي واحد من أفضل الفرق ليس فقط في إفريقيا بل العالم، لديه مدرب متميز وأنا معجب به وأقدر مهمته مع الفريق، ونستعد لتلك المباراة جيدًا وليس فقط هذه المباراة بل كل المباريات”.

Curiosamente, Pintado protagonizou uma polêmica com o clube recentemente, mas na gestão anterior, de Carlos Miguel Aidar. No ano passado, o ex-jogador atuou como intermediário do Cruz Azul (MEX) na tentativa de levar Luis Fabiano para o futebol mexicano, mas teve postura reprovada pelos dirigentes, a quem criticou posteriormente. Dentre os cartolas, estava Ataíde Gil Guerreiro, ex-vice de futebol e atualmente como diretor de relações institucionais.

Caso seja contratado, Pintado fará o elo entre a diretoria e os jogadores e, de cara, terá de adotar a postura de cobrança exigida pela cúpula. Há tempos que se fala nesse problema no CT.

In recent comments, the agent of Illan Meslier, Xavier Fleury, discussed potential interest in the Leeds United goalkeeper, as well as hinting at the shot-stopper’s future exit from Elland Road.

Since arriving at Leeds on what was originally a season-long loan deal in the summer of 2019 – with the club making Meslier’s signing permanent in a £5.85 million deal last summer – the 21-year-old has so far gone on to feature 36 times for the Whites, conceding 48 goals and keeping 15 clean sheets along the way.

So far this season, despite his tender age, the £10.8 million-rated Frenchman has highly impressed over his 25 Premier League appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, making an average of four saves and per game, as well as averaging a SofaScore match rating of 7.04 – ranking him as the club’s sixth-best performer in the top flight.

And, speaking recently on the LUFC Fan Zone podcast, as cited by Leeds Live, Fleury claimed that a number of big clubs could be interested in signing the France U21 international, as well opening the door to the ‘keepers potential exit from the club.

He said: “When you are so young, the youngest starting goalkeeper in Europe, for sure, big clubs could be interested, following him. Illan is starting at Leeds. He loves the club. Perhaps in one, two seasons, if you have a club like Real Madrid that knock on the door, who knows?”

Transfer Tavern Take

With Leeds not exactly having great strength in depth in the goalkeeper department – Kiko Casilla being Bielsa’s back up shot-stopper, with the club losing all three games the 34-year-old has featured in this season – keeping Meslier at the club is likely to be a priority for the Whites this summer.

However, with Fleury claiming that the 21-year-old is currently loving life at Elland Road, it would appear as if the Frenchman is in no rush to leave any time soon, which is likely to be very pleasing news for both Bielsa as well as fans of the club.
