Spurs fans are optimistic that Mauricio Pochettino will not be leaving north London for Milan this summer as reports circulate that the Argentine will be offered a job at San Siro.

The Mirror have exclusively reported that the Italian giants have attempted to lure the Argentine to Italy by promising him a huge £300 million transfer budget.

After years of frugality at Tottenham some may believe that the 47-year-old could be tempted by a move to the Rossoneri, but the following fans believe that he will remain loyal to the club.

Their new stadium officially opened last week and supporters are hopeful that their manager will stick around to complete the project he has started in north London.

The team from the English capital are yet to win a trophy under the former Southampton boss, but he has turned them into consistent Champions League contenders.

وتواجد الدولي الإسباني جوردي ألبا، الظهير الأيسر، في تدريبات برشلونة بشكل طبيعي، في المران الصباحي، اليوم الجمعة؛ وفقًا لما ذكرته صحيفة “موندو ديبورتيفو” الإسبانية.

وأوضحت الصحيفة، أنّ ألبا تدرب بشكل طبيعي، بعد أنّ تعافى من إصابته، حيث يغيب عن الملاعب مُنذ 4 أكتوبر الماضي، بعدما تعرض لإصابة في أوتار الركبة اليمنى.

وأكدت الصحيفة أنّ ألبا سيكون جاهزًا للمُشاركة في المباراة كأساسي، ألا إذا لم يرغب كومان في ذلك.

Emery’s at the wheel, that’s how the saying goes right? Now that Arsenal have progressed into the Europa League quarter-final and find themselves in third place in the league, fans are ecstatic. Finally, the Spaniard is looking more and more like the right appointment in the post-Arsene Wenger era, despite it coming as a relative shock. 

Still, they can’t get too excited just yet. With seven league games still to play, Arsenal have to maintain their focus and a level of professionalism about their game, or else, their good fortune could quickly come tumbling down. As every Gunner fan reading this know, their club really do like to make things difficult.

So, having Champions League football back at the Emirates will be the statement Unai Emery needs to recruit some more talented players. And although other positions may take initial priority, another winger must quickly be sourced to add to Arsenal’s firepower up-top.

One youngster they have considered signing before – according to Football.Live NG – is Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze and rekindling interest for the 19-year-old wouldn’t be a bad idea at all.

Chukwueze, (who is valued at £9 million on Transfermarkt) is a dynamic player who has gone a long way to showing off his endless ability this season, despite his sides low La Liga position. Whilst the Yellow Submarine are currently putting up a real fight against relegation, Chukwueze has scored nine goals and created a further four assists, playing his part in trying to keep his team afloat in the league.

Indeed, Chukwueze made his debut for Nigeria at the end of last year as he continues his growth in the game, so would certainly fit into an Arsenal project really trying to grow into the next phase.

And, he was even described as ‘Top class’ by Bein Sports presenter Kevin Egan via his personal Twitter account, so it’s clear to see that he’s rated very highly and would be worth the purchase.

Whether he is soaring up and down the wing, putting balls into the box or producing a goal-bound effort himself, Chukwueze looks to be a winger full of quality and one that Arsenal cannot pass the opportunity of signing once again. Alongside their current flurry of attackers, he could become something great.

مبابي ارتبط كثيرًا بمغادرة باريس سان جيرمان متجهًا إلى ريال مدريد، حيث أنه حصل على إعجاب المدرب زين الدين زيدان ورئيس النادي فلورنتينو بيريز.

وأضاف مدربه السابق: “لم أكن أريده أن يغادر، وتحدثت معه ومع والده لإقناعه بضرورة البقاء، لأن الرحيل عن باريس سان جيرمان ليس بالأمر السهل”.

وشدد: “كان متحمسًا للغاية بأن يلعب لـ ريال مدريد، لأنه مشجع للنادي وفكر بجدية في الذهاب إلى هناك لأنه يحب أجواء سانتياجو بيرنابيو”.

Benjamin Mendy used to be quite a likeable character, but he has since degenerated into one of the most frustrating players for fans and critics alike.

The proliferation of YouTube, social media, the internet and technology means players are more connected with the outside world than ever. And that is a great thing. In the modern era, we need players like Benjamin Mendy; individuals who can bridge the gap between the dressing room and fans. Those fun, bouncy characters who are as useful off the pitch as they are on. But that is where the problem lies. The Frenchman is too focused on one thing and not the other.

Manchester fans more than anyone have a right to be frustrated with their record signing left-back. Their match-up against Brighton in the FA Cup on 6 April marked the first time Mendy appeared in anything other than social media in nine games. Before that, the club’s resident prankster had spent two separate periods on the side-line totalling a period of 24 games, and even before then he had missed 45 games last term through “injury”.

This means Benjamin Mendy, the man who cost Pep Guardiola £52million in 2017, has spent a ridiculous 366 out of the team for one reason or another. But what has he been doing in that time, you might ask? Well, his Twitter gives a pretty comprehensive account.

From forcing the “shark team” hashtag down our throats like an overzealous parent with a spoonful of carrot mush to a barrage of emojis akin to that of a WhatsApp group chat full of excitable teenagers, Mendy has crowned himself as the ultimate social media footballer. But City did not fork out multi-millions for the world’s most expensive Twitter manager. They wanted a player and is not what they have got.

Guardiola once claimed that he wanted to kill Benjamin Mendy ‘at times’, and though he probably did not mean literally, we imagine he is not far off now (as per The Times).  His most recent controversy, which involved leaving a club at 3:30am the night before training, may not be that bad under normal circumstances – footballers need a life outside the game, after all – but Mendy should have been working on his comeback (story via Telegraph).

We are at a point now where Manchester City need to make a decision: do they keep Mendy or send him packing? A new left-back is at the forefront of Pep Guardiola’s shopping list apparently, with Ben Chilwell a rumoured prospect, so that may give fans some hint towards which way the club are leaning (as per Telegraph).

Arsenal fans have been left devastated after Aaron Ramsey sustained a potentially season-ending injury in the Europa League quarter-final against Napoli.

The Wales international was substituted in the first half after suffering a muscular injury.

And BBC Sport have since reported that Ramsey may well have played his last game for the club after Unai Emery revealed he could be out for three weeks. As things stand, Arsenal’s last fixture of the season is on the 12th of May – exactly three weekends away.

Of course, Ramsey has agreed a deal to move to Juventus on a free transfer once the summer window opens.

It would be a particularly low-key end for such an impeccable servant to the Gunners cause – Ramsey has won three FA Cups during his time at the club and made over 370 appearances – and his immediate absence will inevitably be a blow to Arsenal’s top four hopes.

But fans may well have seen the last of him in a red shirt and they have expressed their sadness and frustration on Twitter.

وأتم روز: “تحياتي إلى فريقي، قدمنا أداءً مذهلاً، كان بإمكاننا إنهاء المباراة مبكرًا، شاختار سجل الهدف الثالث في ريال مدريد، ونحن لم نفعل، ومع ذلك أنا فخور بما قدمناه  الليلة، ولا يمكنني أن ألومهم على النتيجة”.

وأوضحت “آس” أنه رغم جاهزية تير شتيجن، إلا أنه من المتوقع بنسبة كبيرة تواجده بديلاً في مباراة برشلونة ودينامو كييف.

وأكدت الصحيفة أن الحارس الألماني سيكون أساسيًا في مباراة برشلونة وريال بيتيس بالليجا، والمقرر لها السبت القادم.

As football league fans will agree, it is a proud moment watching products of their clubs travel through the system and make names for themselves on the big stage.

It is a glorious thing, is it not? The journey of a small fish making it in a big pond. The likes of Jamie Vardy, Ian Wright and other such players making the huge leap from non-league to Premier League. The stories of those who had almost given up but made it at the last.

James Tarkowski is not one of these, but his story of success is romantic nonetheless.

In an age where scouting systems extend to the far reaches of the world and where gems are being unearthed from the favelas of Brazil to the professional grade park pitches of the Netherlands and beyond, it is refreshing to see a prospect rise from the old textile towns of England onto the biggest stage of them all.

Once upon a time, James Tarkowski was kicking about Oldham Athletic, living not 15 minutes from the ground – Boundary Park. After being dumped into a relegation battle by former manager Paul Dickov, Oldham handed youth development coach Tony Philliskirk the temporary responsibility of guiding the side to safety. And this appointment is where it all began.

Philliskirk knew all about Tarkowski having seen his through the early stages of his career. He had a place in his squad, as long as he was manager. He trusted him.

The faith he showed paid off, Oldham’s form drastically improved. The Englishman established himself in the side, scoring a vital winner in a victory away at Stevenage, kick-starting a journey that would take him to Wembley as a full England international years later.

“What Oldham Athletic gave James Tarkowski was an opportunity to develop, to make mistakes and learn by them,” Philliskirk says. “In the modern era it’s very easy to pick young players, then they make a mistake or two and it’s very easy to leave them out.”

The Englishman joined Brentford in 2014, a club renowned for making incredibly astute signings, where he spent two years before leaving to join Premier League side Burnley. Tarkowski initially found it difficult to break into the squad past Michael Keane, but when he made his big money move to Everton, the stage was set.

Tarkowski was a key member of Sean Dyce’s squad who reached Europe (yes, Burnley in Europe) after guiding the club into seventh place in the Premier League with the sixth best defensive record (39).

He was awarded his England debut by Gareth Southgate in March 2018 and found himself on the standby-list for the Russia World Cup. Not bad going.
