– Jogo difícil, sabíamos que seria difícil. Difícil para preparar pelos muitos problemas que temos com jogadores importantes. Viemos com o espírito certo, sem esse espírito de equipe, não conseguiríamos os pontos. Essa forma de determinados momentos procurar jogar com qualidade em termos ofensivos, e em outros momentos, essencialmente quando os jogadores de mais qualidade técnica começam a ficar fadigados, e começam a entrar jogadores que não tem tempo de jogo, que necessitamos deles. Ao ser questionado sobre o que pode ser feito para melhorar a atuação da equipe, Vítor disse que isso só será possível com a volta dos jogadores lesionados. Hoje, ele não contou com Fagner, João Victor, Paulinho, Ruan Oliveira, Willian e Jô, além de Maycon, suspenso. Ele ressaltou a importância dos jogadores que estiveram em campo, que souberam entender o momento para atacar e se defender.

– Melhorar? Melhorar só quando os sete jogadores que estão lesionados voltarem. Mais soluções, melhoramos automaticamente. O nosso trabalho é esse, recuperar os jogadores lesionados, jogadores importantes, e continuar a trabalhar. Quando foi possível jogar com qualidade, jogamos com qualidade, atacamos com qualidade. Quando não foi possível, defendemos com qualidade. Defender faz parte do jogo e é preciso defender com qualidade em determinados momentos do jogo. Conseguimos uma vitória importante. Alguns dos jogadores tinham pouco tempo. Precisamos de todos. Todos juntos mais a nossa torcida, vamos conseguindo vitórias e pontos. Perguntado sobre a não utilização de Luan, que nem relacionado foi para o confronto contra o Atlético-GO, Vítor Pereira revelou que o camisa 7 ia ser escalado em três ocasiões, mas acabou se lesionando antes dessas oportunidades. O treinador cobrou mais entrega do meia nos treinos.

– O Luan já esteve três vezes para ser escalado, e no último momento, vai para o departamento médico. Portanto, não é da minha responsabilidade. Era para ele vir, só que no último treino, queixou-se de um problema e foi para o departamento médico. Isso aconteceu três vezes. Durante o tempo que aqui estou, tem ficado fora de muitos treinos, grande parte do tempo não trabalhou comigo. Se o Luan quiser se entregar no treino e no jogo, eu não coloco ninguém de parte. Precisamos de todos, e do Luan também. A verdade é essa – afirmou o treinador, que ainda não usou Luan desde que chegou ao Parque São Jorge.

O lusitano voltou a destacar a entrega e comprometimentos dos atletas que estiveram em campo e conquistaram os três pontos.

– Fundamentalmente, nas circunstâncias que jogamos o jogo, hoje valeu o espírito de equipe. Muitos jogadores importantes de fora. Segundo a programação oficial divulgada pelo clube, os jogadores terão a segunda livre e somente retornarão aos treinamentos nesta terça, às 11h, na Academia de Futebol. Isso porque houve o adiamento do duelo com o Atlético-GO, que estava marcado para quarta e passou para quinta, ganhando um dia no calendário.

Até o próximo compromisso, o Verdão treinará dois dias (terça e quarta), e folgará mais um, na sexta-feira, após o duelo com o Dragão, quando de fato terá início uma maratona mais pesada para Abel Ferreira e seus comandados, que brigam em três frentes.

Na próxima segunda-feira, o Palmeiras vai até o o Morumbi para pegar o São Paulo em partida válida pelo Brasileirão. Serão mais dois dias de treino (sábado e domingo) e provavelmente a manhã da própria segunda, como é praxe no trabalho da comissão técnica.

Três dias depois, os rivais voltam a se encontrar, mas pelas oitavas de final da Copa do Brasil, novamente no Morumbi. Essa programação ainda não foi divulgada pelo clube, mas o clima decisivo se manterá.

Isso não apenas para o jogo contra o Avaí (26/6), pelo Brasileirão, ainda brigando pela liderança, mas principalmente pensando no início do mata-mata da Libertadores, já que no dia 29 de junho, em Assunção-PAR, o Palmeiras terá o duelo de ida diante do Cerro Porteño ou seja, certamente uma maratona até o fim do mês, com compromissos decisivos por três competições diferentes.

The trio of Jamie Vardy, Victor Kristiansen and Jannik Vestergaard were not involved in the 2-1 defeat against Manchester United in the FA Cup last time out, but their issues are not thought to be serious, so they could be in line to return this weekend.

Issahaku Fatawu is set to be sidelined for quite some time due to an ACL injury, while Ricardo Pereira is not expected to return anytime soon either, although Ruud van Nistelrooy has confirmed the right-back is now taking part in individual training.

Mikel Arteta will have to make do without Bukayo Saka once again, with the manager stating the right-winger will not be back before March, while on the opposite flank Gabriel Martinelli is set to miss out due to a hamstring issue.

Will Celtic secure another strong end to this season?

On Saturday, the Hoops actually suffered just their second Premiership defeat of the season, Brendan Rodgers’ side surprisingly beaten 2-1 by Hibernian at Easter Road.

Nevertheless, the Bhoys remain 13 points clear at the top of the Premiership, with only 11 matches still to play, ahead of Aberdeen’s visit to Parkhead on Tuesday night.

This team is targeting a sixth treble in nine seasons, but they could be even stronger next season if and when a highly-rated winger returns from his loan spell down under.

How Jota is faring after re-joining Celtic

Jota’s return to Celtic in January brought with it much fanfare, rejoining the club from Stade Rennais for a reported fee of £8m, having only left to join Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League for £25m, a joint-club-record, 18 months earlier.

Less than half an hour into his second Celtic debut, the Portuguese winger marked his return by scoring against Motherwell at Fir Park, bursting into tears during his celebration, so delighted to be back “home” having endured, as he put it afterwards, countless “difficult moments” since his departure.

Meantime, following the Hoops’ 6-0 hammering of Dundee, Jota exclaimed that he was “delighted” to be back at Celtic Park.

That said, prior to the first leg against Bayern Munich, Rodgers revealed to TNT Sports that the winger “is not quite at the physical level yet”, beginning as a substitute for that Champions League tie, before then starting the draw in Bavaria six nights later.

Colloquially known as the ‘superstar from Portugal’, Jota is unquestionably a fans’ favourite, but could he face fresh competition for his place next season, from a player currently impressing out on loan?

Celtic loanee starring down under

Back in June 2023, Celtic signed winger Marco Tilio for a reported £1.5m from Melbourne City.

At the time, it was the highest fee ever paid for an A-League player, with Aussie Scout on Twitter labelling him a ‘prolific goalscorer’, pointing in the direction of this being an exciting addition.

However, during his first six months in Glasgow, Tilio made just two appearances, handed brief cameo appearances off the bench against Motherwell and Hibs, so rejoined Melbourne City on loan a year ago, remaining there for this season too.

In an interview with ESPN, Tilio admitted this was the “toughest year” of his career, describing his move to Celtic as a “dream” but admitting “pretty much from there, everything didn’t fall into place… it was taken away from me through injuries.”

Well, so far this season, the 23-year-old has made just seven appearances for the Sky Blues due to a hamstring injury, but did score a sublime opener during Saturday’s Melbourne derby, a match that ended 2-2.

So, let’s assess how he and Jota compare.

As the table shows, Jota does come out on top for most metrics, albeit Tilio’s numbers in terms of shots on target percentage, big chances created and dribble success percentage are especially impressive considering he’s played fewer minutes.

He is also currently performing at a comparable level to the SPFL; Global Football Rankings believe the Scottish Premiership to be the 43rd strongest league in the world, while the A-League ranks at 52nd.

So, there is little doubting Tilio’s talent and, if he is able to stay fit, he can certainly be an asset to Rodgers’ squad, potentially rivalling Jota upon his return.

The 25-year old had a tough go of it in 2021, especially during that season’s WBBL, where her team had to play all their matches on the road due to stringent Covid-19 restrictions. Now, thanks to her performances in 2022, she will herald the new year from the top of the allrounder’s rankings, along with being No. 7 among the batters and 14th among the bowlers.Gardner’s recent exploits include a statement performance in a five-match T20I series against India, where she showcased an adeptness for pulling Australia out of trouble. In all, she made 115 runs in three innings at a strike rate of 167 and picked up seven wickets while maintaining an economy rate of 7. وخلال المؤتمر الصحفي لمباراة البرازيل أمام بيرو، علق أليسون بيكر على مستقبله مع ليفربول، حيث قال: “لم أستطع قط التخطيط على المدى الطويل، من الواضح الآن أن لديّ عامًا واحدًا متبقيًا في عقدي مع ليفربول، وعامًا آخر من خيار النادي، والذي من المرجح أن يُفعّلوه”.

وأضاف: “هذه الفترة تعد لحظة حاسمة في مسيرتي، مع اقتراب كأس العالم، أريد أن أكون في قمة تركيزي، ولا أريد لأي شيء خارجي أن يعيقني عن ذلك”.

ورد أليسون عن إمكانية عودته إلى الدوري البرازيلي: “أتحدث إلى الرياضيين الذين اتخذوا هذه الخطوة للعودة، بعضهم كانت لديهم تجارب جيدة، والبعض الآخر لا”.

واختتم: “لكلٍّ منهم تجربته الخاصة، لكنني أرغب في العودة، وخاصةً إلى إنترناسيونال (فريقه السابق)، لا أعرف متى سيحدث ذلك، لكنني ما زلت أرغب في تقديم أداء رفيع المستوى، هذا ما خططت له”.

JOGO DE PRESSÃO POLÍTICA?

O “sonho do estádio próprio” é antigo no Flamengo. Desde a reforma da Gávea ao interesse em terreno na Avenida Brasil (relembre aqui), a pauta é antiga entre os dirigentes e torcedores, mas volta a ganhar força após o clube, como concessionário do Maracanã junto ao Fluminense, entrar em atrito com a Justiça após vetar jogo do Vasco e ter a decisão revogada pela Justiça do Rio de Janeiro nesta semana.

Contudo, no dia 31 de maio, a diretoria publicou um comunicado a respeito de notícias sobre possível interesseem construir um estádio de futebol na área do Parque Olímpico: “o Flamengodeixa claro que esta é mais uma de tantas mentiras que circulam sobre o clube”.

Na mesma nota, o clube reafirmou “total desejo em continuar sendo o concessionário do Maracanã, verdadeira casa da Nação”, como fez nesta sexta, ao formalizaros termos do acordo de parceria com o Fluminense para participarem da próxima licitação do palco carioca.

A percepção de que o Maracanã, como um bem público e símbolo da cidade e do país, sempre terá “peso político” é um dos argumentos de quem defende, na Gávea, o avanço pelo projeto do estádio próprio, apesar das dificuldades e da identificação com o Maraca.

A GESTÃO DO PARQUE OLÍMPICO

Construído a partir de 2012 e uma das sedes da Rio-2016, o Parque Olímpico é uma área de 1,1 milhão de m², na Barra da Tijuca, na qual estão diversas estruturas esportivas. A gestão do espaço e das arenas, atualmente, estão sob responsabilidade do Governo Federal, da Prefeitura do Rio de Janeiro e do Consórcio Rio Mais, formado pelasconstrutoras Odebrecht, Andrade Gutierrez e Carvalho Hosken.

A Secretaria Especial do Esporte, ligada ao Governo Federal, administra as Arenas Carioca 1 e 2 e o Centro Olímpico de Tênis.

O velódromo volta para a gestão da Prefeitura do Rio de Janeiro em agosto, e passará a sediar eventos esportivos e o Museu Olímpico, segundo Paes.. O Parque Aquático Maria Lenk é a sede do Comitê Olímpico Brasileiro e a HSBC Arena está cedida à iniciativa privada.

A Arena do Futuro, que recebeu handball nos Jogos Olímpicos, está sendo desmontada pela Prefeitura para a construção de quatro escolas municipais, enquanto a Arena Carioca 3 está sendo adaptada para, também, como uma escola, segundo o prefeito Eduardo Paes.

As demais áreas e infraestruturas pertencem ao Consórcio Rio Mais, que venceu a licitação no modelo PPP (parceria público-privada).

Caso exista um projeto viável para a construção de um estádio no local, a negociação do Flamengo terá que ocorrer com o Consórcio.

O papel da Prefeitura, neste sentido, seria de autorizações, licenças e outras diversos avais a serem dados – os quais Eduardo Paes já se manifestou, publicamente, à disposição de ajudar o clube no projeto.

-Estarei com o presidente Landim nos próximos dias. Vou entender o que é o projeto. Acho ótimo o Flamengo ter um estádio no Rio de Janeiro, autorizo o que for. A única coisa que eu falei para ele é que o Parque Olímpico não é da Prefeitura, é privado. Se o Flamengo comprar a área, é um espaço bem legal para fazer um estádio. Se depender de mim tem estádio para todo mundo, principalmente para o Flamengo – afirmou o prefeito, durante transmissão no Instagram.

Entre as várias análises a serem feitas pelo clube a respeito da viabilidade da construção de um estádio próprio, a reunião com o prefeito Eduardo Paes é apenas um primeiro passo do Flamengo.
