Além disso, foi o camisa 7 o responsável por cruzar a bola para o cabeceio de Breno Lopes, que fez com que o Palmeiras voltasse a conquistar a América depois de 22 anos.

Na atual temporada, o jogador é o artilheiro da equipe com seis gols e ainda conta com três assistências. Polivalente, o atacante tem cumprido diferentes funções no ataque alviverde a depender da proposta de jogo do time. Por esse motivo, tem sido muito elogiado por Abel e seu auxiliar nas coletivas.

The forward line at the Etihad looks set for the next decade with 23-year-old Erling Haaland on track to break every record imaginable before he hangs up his boots. Joining the Norwegian in the future folklore at the Etihad will be Phil Foden. Also 23, the attacking midfielder is already a legend in the eyes of many in the blue half of Manchester.

One player entering the twilight of his time with the champions will be Kevin de Bruyne. The Belgian has been arguably the best midfielder in the league during his time with City however persistent injuries suggest that his team could be in the market for a new midfielder this summer, with Joshua Kimmich linked with an Etihad move earlier this year.

Kimmich considering Man City move

As first reported on the X account of Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, it is claimed that Man City are one of five clubs Kimmich is considering joining. The Bayern Munich star is out of contract in 2025 and the Bavarian outfit are willing to cash in this summer if a suitable offer comes in.

Plettenberg names Liverpool, Arsenal, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona as the other suitors for the 29-year-old. However, City may be favourites to seal the deal. A factor that could work in City's favour may be the midfielder's relationship with Guardiola. The Spaniard handed Kimmich his first Bayern Munich start and has been instrumental in the player's progression, calling him "outstanding". Kimmich's former boss also even referred to him as "almost my son" in response to rumours of the 29-year-old leaving Bayern back in 2015.

In the eight years that have passed since Guardiola left Bavaria, he has gone on to develop a style that Kimmich could slot perfectly into. Relying heavily on versatility between defence and midfield, Kimmich's ability to play as both a central midfielder as well as a fullback could make him ideal for the Spaniard's style of play.

Kimmich's versatility was a quality praised by his former boss Julian Nagelsmann who said of the player:

"It's so important to have a No.6 who wants the ball and has the necessary composure in possession. I know he prefers to play in the middle, but I don't need reminding. I've made a note of it"

"The great thing is he's world-class at right-back and in midfield."

Son Heung-min, Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma travelled for the Asia Cup and AFCON respectively in mid-season, while Postecoglou has been forced to cope without a plethora of other players due to injury at various points.

Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Ivan Perisic, Cristian Romero, Richarlison, Brennan Johnson, Giovani Lo Celso, Ashley Phillips, Ryan Sessegnon and Rodrigo Bentancur have all spent at least a month on the sidelines during Postecoglou's first season in charge, which is pretty ridiculous.

In light of van de Ven's latest injury, which arguably played a part in Tottenham's 3-0 slump away to Fulham, Spurs' head coach has admitted that they will look to sign another centre-back this summer.

“If you’re saying, ‘Is it an area we can strengthen?’, yes it’s an area we will probably look at”, Postecoglou said.

“With all these things, it’s about trying to strengthen the group as much as anything else. If you think about when I first arrived, we had maybe six or seven centre-backs at the club. So it’s not just numbers. It’s more about the ability of those players to play the football we want and to fit in to what we’re trying to build here.

“I think it is an area of the park we will look to strengthen, but I think we’ll look to strengthen all areas of the park come the end of the season. That is planning that’s already underway, and other people are in charge of it at the moment.”

Left-back Sessegnon is already missing the rest of Tottenham's season after another hamstring injury, and now Spurs think the same can be said of 2023 summer signing Solomon.

Tottenham expect Solomon to miss rest of the season after knee surgery

The Isreali international injured his meniscus all the way back in October, which required surgery, but a fresh setback in his recovery prompted minor knee surgery last week.

While he could return to training before the end of 23/24, journalist Wayne Veysey writes for Football Insider that Tottenham do not expect Solomon to play again this season, which comes as a hammer blow for the winger who has had few chances to showcase his quality.

Indeed, Solomon could've been a real asset if it wasn't for his bad luck with fitness issues.

“Manor is a special player; he was excellent at Fulham,” said Avram Grant to Ynet. “I spoke with him, and he’s thrilled to be at Tottenham; he has improved his killer instinct. What sets him apart is his amazing one-on-one ability; he’s among the best."

O técnico do Flamengo, Rogério Ceni, ao comentar as recentes atuações de Gerson, voltou a falar sobre a situação envolvendo a possível saída do camisa 8, também depois que o Rubro-Negro venceu pela primeira rodada do Brasileirão, no Maracanã:

– Não acho que (a negociação) esteja atrapalhando, vem tratando com naturalidade, sendo a mesma pessoa todos os dias. Colin Ackermann, Leicestershire’s white-ball captain, has signed a new three-year deal that will keep him at Grace Road until at least the end of the 2023 season.Ackermann’s new deal followed an impressive 2019 season, the improbable highlight of which was his world-record T20 return of 7 for 18 against Birmingham Bears.”I am very pleased to have extended my contract by another three years,” Ackermann said. “I have really enjoyed my time here at the Fischer County Ground over the last three years so long may that continue.”It was a tough season for Leicestershire, who finished bottom of their respective tables in each of the three county competitions. However, Ackermann is adamant that better things are in prospect for the club.”There have been quite a few [personal highlights] in the T20 side of things, and we have had a few good victories over Notts [Outlaws] in the last few years,” he said. “We have definitely shown that we can beat the top teams in our North Group, which is fantastic to see.”We are a young squad and it is fantastic to see the local and younger guys to have that opportunity to make a name for themselves.”Ackermann is the fifth Leicestershire player to sign a new deal in the off-season, after Dieter Klein, Harry Swindells, Sam Evans and Harry Dearden. “It shows that the club is putting a lot of faith in the younger group of lads, which is fantastic,” he said.”It is obviously not all going to come together right now but, in a year, or two’s time with the likes of Harry Dearden and Sam Evans having another year under their belt – it bodes well for the future.”Ackermann made 675 runs at 35.52, and took 12 wickets in the County Championship. But Australia’s victory was another triumph for Nathan Lyon.Claiming the final wicket, when Tim Southee edged to slip, gave him six in the match, took his tally at Perth Stadium to 14 wickets in two outings, and followed the 5 for 69 in the second innings against Pakistan in Adelaide. It was in harsh contrast to the returns of New Zealand’s main spinner, Mitchell Santner, who had match figures of 0 for 146 from 41 overs.Lyon hopes for ‘great wicket’ at MCG

Former groundsman Lyon has confidence that the MCG pitch will be up to standard despite the problems in the recent Sheffield Shield match. The surface for the Victoria-Western Australia match was left too damp in an attempt to bring more life, which resulted in divots creating dangerously uneven bounce which led to the match being called off inside 40 overs.
“I’m always going to be on the curators’ side,” he said. “I’m confident there’s going to be a good wicket there. Confident that there will be a contest between bat and ball. No doubt he’s probably had a few sleepless nights from the last week, but he’s well prepared for a great wicket there hopefully.”
Gary Stead, the New Zealand coach, said, “I know what happened a week or so ago, but I’m sure Cricket Australia are doing everything they can to rectify that so no concerns from us.”

Ridvan Yilmaz could be fit to face Celtic

As Clement explained during his pre-match press conference on Friday, the Gers are "not sure yet" whether Yilmaz will be fit to feature, but it would be a huge boost if he were to make the starting XI.

Yilmaz starting could be so important for Rangers, as his attacking abilities could be crucial for any success the Gers look to have against Celtic.

In the Premiership this season, Yilmaz has created six big chances along with averaging 1.7 key passes per game, with this attacking output hard to replace should he miss the game.

Yilmaz started the previous Old Firm tie back in December, winning 100% of his ground duels while also succeeding with 100% of his dribble attempts, suggesting he can make a difference at both ends of the pitch.

If he is even 80% fit, Clement should still unleash him and hope he can last as long as possible, such is his influence recently.

Sima made a brief cameo against Hibs last weekend, and he is another player who the Belgian will be hoping is 100% ready to face Celtic this afternoon.

Abdallah Sima’s statistics for Rangers

The winger was in stunning form for the Light Blues during the first half of the season. Exceeding expectations, Sima found the back of the net 15 times for the Ibrox side, chipping in with two assists, and it was clear he was enjoying his football.

Disaster struck when the player was representing Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in January, suffering a hamstring injury in training which kept him out for the next 13 matches and potentially derailing the progress Rangers made.

Thankfully, Oscar Cortes and Fabio Silva both stepped up to the plate and deputised for Sima fairly well, but now that the Brighton gem is back, he should be slotted straight back into the starting XI against Celtic.

The winger is currently valued at €7.2m (£6.1m) according to Football Transfers, with his value increasing during his spell in Glasgow due to his excellent displays.

The 22-year-old was previously hailed as a “fantastic prospect” during his spell playing for Slavia Prague by talent scout Jacek Kulig, building on this talent to become a regular for Rangers when he has been fit this season.

Sima and Yilmaz could form a wonderful partnership down the left flank against Celtic and this could be key if Clement wishes to emerge from the game with all three points.

The title won't be won today but the psychological blow of a defeat could be damaging indeed.
